1. What is Career Counseling?

Career counseling is a process uniquely designed for individuals from all walks of life to help them achieve direction in making decisions and creating action plans concerning employment, and/or educational goals.

2. Who does Career Counseling help?

• People who find themselves in life/career transitions.
• People desiring or needing a job change.
• People returning to the workforce, needing assistance on how to find a job.
• People desiring to find their passions in life and live accordingly.

3. How long does Career Counseling take?

Depending on the type of service(s) a person needs, the following guidelines can be used:

• For resume development, or interview preparation it normally takes one (50 minute) session.
• For a more holistic approach of services, it normally takes four-six sessions.

4. Do you provide tests or skill assessments?

Yes, I provide a variety of career assessments that identify individuals' interests, skills, values, beliefs, and personality traits that help provide life/career clarification and direction.

5. What career assessments do you use?

• The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI Step I and Step II)-focuses on personality traits and preferences. Based on individual's type this assessment suggests occupations that maybe rewarding.
• The Strong Interest Inventory (SII)-focuses on various interests people have and suggests occupations compared to individuals in those fields who enjoy their work.
• The SkillScan-focuses on individuals' transferable (employability) skills and assists in prioritizing most to least important.
• The Values Driven Work Survey-focuses on individuals clarifying values important for them to use at work and in their personal life.

In addition to the assessments listed above, I also use other assessments and techniques helping individuals find clarity for life's joys and passions.

6. How much does it cost?

• Single sessions are $90.00 for 50 minutes.
• Career assessment (testing) services and materials are additional ranging from $50.00 to $100.00.
